Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Friday
After a mostly or partly sunny start to the day, a weak front currently over the offshore waters will shift inland and cause an increase in low level clouds during the afternoon hours. This front will also bring light rain and snow for the Olympics and north Cascades by mid-day, and perhaps as far south as Stevens and Snoqualmie Passes by sunset. For areas further south including the south Washington Cascades and Mt. Hood area, mostly sunny skies and mild daytime temperatures should prevail.
The front will pass into the interior of Brittish Columbia tonight. Light rain and snow showers will spread south along the west slopes of the Washington Cascades, but precipitation amounts will be light. Onshore westerly flow will help keep scattered showers and low level clouds banked up against the west slopes of the Cascades tomorrow, although there's a good chance for sunbreaks in the afternoon. The east slopes of the Cascades and the Mt. Hood area will once again see more sunshine.
