Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Friday
Showers continue to linger in the Mt. Baker area early this afternoon but have become scattered or ended completely for other areas. Weak upper level ridging will shift over the Pacific Northwest tonight as drier and less windy conditions take over. Just as skies try to clear out tonight high clouds will begin to increase out in advance of the next approaching frontal system. This system will flatten the upper level ridge and bring light rain and snow to the Olympics and north Cascades and possibly as far south as Snoqualmie Pass. The sky cover forecast is tricky tomorrow, but expect more sunshine for the south Washington Cascades, east slopes of the Cascades and Mt. Hood area along with milder freezing levels than areas north.
Light shower activity along the west slopes of the Cascades should increase Tuesday night as the front pushes inland. Showers should decrease quickly on Wednesday as upper level ridging tries to rebuild offshore. Look for a north - south differences across the forecast area once again with more sun and warmer temperatures for the south Washington Cascades and Mt. Hood area.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Friday night through Friday
Upper level ridging and high pressure will take control on Thursday and Friday with milder air moving into the region. The real question is how much cloud cover slips under the ridge (dirty ridging) as the storm track is pushed further north. Either way, look for freezing levels to be on the rise toward the end of the week with the next frontal system set to arrive over the weekend.
