Weather Synopsis for Monday & Thursday
Strong upper level ridging offshore will lead to a dry and mostly sunny day across the Pacific Northwest. Areas of high clouds will waft down over us in NW flow, with perhaps a bit more high cloud and filtered sunshine for the north Cascades. Strong N-NW winds at Cascade crest level will begin to ease off this afternoon. Warmer air aloft will work its way over the Olympics and Mt. Hood area today, but won't have much success penetrating the Washington Cascades.
A fast moving but weak frontal system in NW flow will approach the area overnight. Light precipitation should spread over the Olympics and north Cascades by mid-day Tuesday. Little to no precipitation is expected elsewhere, but low level clouds will increase for west slopes of the Cascades, Olympics and Mt. Hood during the day.
