Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Tuesday
It's going to be a warm, dry and sunny day for all areas with upper level ridging building offshore and surface high pressure anchored over the inland NW. Mountain temperatures this morning are several degrees warmer than they were Saturday morning and generally above the freezing mark.
The high amplitude ridge will split the jet stream around the Pacific Northwest sending storm tracks well to our north or south for the next few days. Offshore flow will increase during the day on Sunday with somewhat breezy east winds picking up in the usual locations from roughly Stevens Pass and south to Mt. Hood. That said, freezing levels will continue to rise on Sunday under sunny skies. Offshore flow will increase Sunday night.
Monday should be slightly warmer freezing level-wise, but offshore easterlies will reach the moderate range both at Pass level and ridgecrest in the Cascade Passes, the southwest Cascades, and the Mt. Hood area.
