Weather Synopsis for Monday & Saturday

Moderate shower activity in NW flow aloft will continue through this afternoon as a weak upper level disturbance sliding down the backside of the upper trough. A convergence zone downwind of Vancouver Island and aimed between Stevens and Snoquamlie should slide further south this evening before showers throughout the west slopes taper off overnight. In this pattern cloud cover quickly decreases east of the Cascade crest.

Tuesday should be a quiet day between systems with high clouds from the next frontal system moving overhead in the afternoon.  The front should pass through Tuesday night with a quick transition to showers and a light shot of precipitation.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday

Showers will stick around for much of Wednesday with NW flow aloft returning and another chance for a convergence zone to locally enhance accumulations along the west slopes.

Ridging centered well offshore will begin to flatten and flop over the PNW as the next system approaches. For now Thursday looks like a mostly dry day but a few stray showers are possible.

Warm frontal precipitation will spread over the area from the NW as the ridge becomes flattened.  A decent rise in snow levels may accompany the precipitation on Friday.

Extended Weather

Olympics, Washington Cascades near and west of the crest including Stevens, Snoqualmie, and White Passes
Wednesday

Mostly cloudy along the west slopes of the Cascades and Olympics with light to moderate rain and snow showers. Shower activity and cloud cover decreasing east of the Cascade crest.

Wednesday Night

Mostly cloudy with isolated showers decreasing overnight.

Thursday - Thursday Night

Partly to mostly cloudy.

Friday

Rain and snow developing early Friday and spreading south. Warming trend during the day.
