Weather Synopsis for Friday & Thursday

A weak front offshore continues to split and further weaken as it approaches the coastline. Friday will be the last day of mild freezing levels as a slow cooling trend starts today and continues through the weekend. Clouds will increase today and Friday night as the remnants of the frontal system push inland. Easterly flow through the passes will continue to produce locally cooler temperatures and at times low clouds and fog.

Very light precipitation should begin overnight with shower coverage increasing on Saturday however only insignificant snow accumulations are expected. Showers should decrease Saturday night as a weak ridge builds offshore.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Thursday

On Sunday, an upper level disturbance offshore will approach the Oregon coast.  Light showers should generally diminish over the Olympics and Cascades, with some partial clearing possible Sunday afternoon.

This system should largely miss Washington State but bring light rain and snow to the Mt. Hood area Sunday night.  A stronger upper level ridge will begin to build offshore on Monday, leading to a stretch of dry weather mid-week.

The next weather system should be forced northward into British Columbia due to the ridge, but increased clouds from the warm front may brush the Olympics and north Cascades Monday and Tuesday.
