Weather Synopsis for Thursday & Saturday

Another dry and mostly sunny day is on tap for the Pacific Northwest. Cold air that had been entrenched over the Washington Cascades and Mt. Hood area will start to moderate today.  Locally moderate east winds at Snoqualmie and White Pass and also along ridgetops south of Hwy 2 down to Mt. Hood will begin to ease today as well. Warmer air has already found its way over the Olympics and northwest Cascades and in these areas, little change is expected today.

As a low pressure system dropping south along the OR/CA coast today will manage to rotate up some high clouds over the region. Periods of filtered sunshine are most likely for the Mt. Hood area and to a lesser extent the south Washington Cascades this afternoon.

The southern extent of a frontal system in the Gulf of Alaska will drop south along the B.C. coast later tonight and Friday. This will flatten the upper level ridge over the area and allow high clouds to stream over the area during the day. The exception should be the Mt. Hood area whom should stay mostly sunny on Friday. Freezing levels will stay steady Thursday night through Friday.
