Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Thursday
If you like sunshine in the mountains, then you are in for a treat. A high-pressure ridge in the eastern Pacific continues to strengthen and become the dominant driver in our current weather pattern. As a result, we're in for several days of dry and sunny weather as the ridge slowly shifts east. After a chilly start each morning, look for temperatures to warm rapidly. Clear skies will then allow temperatures to fall quickly overnight. This diurnal pattern should be quite pronounced over the next several days. You could experience inversions in the mountain valleys and passes, with multiple freezing levels possible Wednesday. Winds should shift to the east today for most locations. As the ridge continues drifting inland, you could see the east winds increase Wednesday, especially from around I90 south. Don't forget your sunscreen.
