Weather Synopsis for Monday night through Tuesday
Any lingering isolated showers Monday evening should quickly come to an end. Look for dry and cold conditions overnight with freezing levels dropping to sea-level in most areas. You could find fog and low clouds near the mountain passes and in some of the valleys, but most locations should see partly cloudy skies. All in all, Monday night should be quiet ahead of the change in the weather Tuesday.
Expect clouds to increase and thicken across the region Tuesday ahead of an approaching warm front. Rising snow levels, increase winds, and a few showers should begin to impact the mountains later in the day. Overnight the brunt of the system hits the area with mild, wet, and windy conditions in nearly all locations. Showers should begin to spill over the Cascade crest and affect areas further east. Rain and snow will continue into Wednesday as the firehose doesn't appear to let up. Weather models seem confident with the surge of warm air but still struggle with exactly how much precipitation the mountains could receive.
