Weather Synopsis for Monday & Thursday

A high-pressure ridge off the coast will continue to drive our weather patterns today as it slowly drifts onshore. A warm front will bump into the ridge and try to make its way inland, however, most of the precipitation will be held at bay. Look for showers in the Olympics and North Cascades. Showers could spread south later in the day, but precipitation totals should be very light. Warm air associated with this system will drift inland from the south and west. Air temperatures will increase throughout the day in most areas. Locations east of the Cascades should remain chilly as a pool of cold air stays solidly in place. With cold air east of the range, the Passes should continue to see east flow allowing for colder temperatures at pass level.

Monday night and Tuesday morning should be dry in most locations as any lingering showers move out to the north. Our next weather system approaches late in the day Tuesday ushering in a significant weather pattern change with the possibility for heavy mountain snow.
