Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Saturday
A high-pressure ridge hangs on over the region Thursday night and pushes south of our region on Friday as a very weak shortwave trough moves over the area, bringing wispy clouds and very slight cooling. Mild (and in many cases above freezing) mountain temperatures should continue Thursday night through Friday night, with valley inversions likely during the overnight hours, but little in the way of fog.
The dry weather pattern should begin to break down late Friday night as a frontal system aimed at British Columbia brings light rain and high elevation snow initially to the North Cascades. Waves of moisture on a westerly flow will continue to impact British Columbia on Saturday with increasing, but still light rain and high elevation snow spreading more broadly across northern portions of Washington State as snow levels gradually begin lowering.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
Saturday night, a frontal system approaches and spreads increasing light to moderate rain and snow and strong winds across Washington State as snow levels continue to gradually lower.
The frontal system moves to our east early Sunday, leaving in its wake light rain and snow showers as significant cooling brings snow levels to Snoqualmie Pass level by Sunday night. The showers activity arrives in pulses of energy that are difficult to time - a pattern is likely to continue through the day on Monday.
