Weather Synopsis for Wednesday night through Saturday
The short-term weather forecast is pretty quiet. You'll experience clear and mild conditions over the next several days. A high-pressure ridge, centered just off the coast, continues to bring warmer air into the area and deflect any approaching storms. This ridge will control our weather until it breaks down over the weekend.
Clear skies tonight will allow for cold temperatures to develop at the surface creating inversions in mountain valleys and the Passes. However, warmer air remains at higher elevations. The sun will quickly warm all locations during the day and bring mild weather to the mountains. Areas south of I90, particularly around Mt Hood, should see stronger winds. Look for winds to decrease into Friday as the high-pressure shifts over Washington.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Saturday night through Saturday
The high-pressure ridge that has been protecting us from approaching storms will break down over the weekend and open the storm door. We expect the first of several rounds of precipitation to arrive on Saturday. At the moment there are some discrepancies concerning the timing of this first system, but forecast models agree that we are in for a weather pattern change.
