Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Friday
A weak low pressure system traversing across Oregon will bring light snow to the Mt. Hood area today. The northern fringe of the precipitation will reach to Stevens Pass but should not amount to much in the way of accumulations for the Washington Cascades. As the system pulls to the east later today, the cloud shield of high and mid overcast should thin for the Olympics and north Cascades.
Light snow and rain will come to an end for the south Washington Cascades and Mt. Hood this evening with dry and fair weather forecast on Monday. High pressure building offshore around 135W will flop into southern B.C Monday. The increasing subsidence aloft combinded with weak onshore flow at the surface should trap some moisture and low clouds below Cascade crest level along the west slopes of the Cascades. Sunnier skies are likely along the east slopes of the Cascades Monday. Freezing levels will be relatively cooler on Monday.
