Weather Synopsis for Monday & Thursday
A developing low pressure system offshore around 135W will dive south into Oregon today, clipping Mt. Hood with some light snow and rain but leaving Washington State dry. However, high clouds from the system should rotate up over the Washington Cascades, with less cloud cover closer to the Canadian border. Weak easterly flow through the Passes may pull some low clouds through on an otherwise fair weather day.
A broad area of high pressure will build offshore overnight and quickly shift over the Pacific Northwest on Christmas Day. Generally dry and cool conditions are expected. A few high clouds from the next Pacific frontal system may reach the Olympics in the afternoon.
