Weather Synopsis for Sunday night through Thursday
Bands of post-frontal snow showers will continue to decrease in intensity Sunday night. As westerly flow diminishes Monday morning, the snow flurries will come to an end.
A zonal jetstream aimed for Southern Oregon on Sunday will enhance winds in the Mt. Hood area Sunday and Sunday night before spawning a rapidly-moving cutoff low that drops SE toward northern California on Monday and Monday evening. Mt. Hood will be located just within the closed low's precipitation shield. Winds will shift easterly as flow wrap around the low. Any chance of snow showers will end Monday night on Mt. Hood.
Tuesday, a shortwave ridge offshore works into the region.
Temperatures will be seasonally cool throughout the time period with a slight cooling trend.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Thursday night through Thursday
A frontal system will break down the short-wave ridge as it approaches our coastline on Tuesday night. The cold frontal passage mid-day will produce light to moderate snow in the mountains Wednesday morning and snow showers behind the front Wednesday afternoon.
The system is anticipated to dig a deeper trough over the intermountain west Wednesday night into Thursday, leaving the Pacific Northwest under a brief period of post-frontal showers, then drying as the flow turns northerly.
The region sits between a trough to the east and a high pressure offshore to the west. Some moisture may spill over the high and impact the region on Friday. Somewhat warmer temperatures are anticipated as the high edges into the region.
