Weather Synopsis for Monday & Friday
The recent active weather pattern should draw to a close today as showers decrease across the Cascades and the sun makes an appearance in many locations. Winds will continue to push leftover moisture up onto the Cascades during the day, building clouds and ringing out a few isolated showers before drier weather moves in overnight. The most impactful precipitation Monday seems to be a lingering Puget Sound Convergence Zone aimed near Snoqualmie Pass. This should taper off by mid-morning but until it does, expect locally moderate snow around this band of precipitation. Look for partly cloudy skies with sun breaks near and west of the Cascade crest, with more sunshine in areas further east.
Monday night and Tuesday, a high-pressure ridge strengthens out in the Pacific ushering in dry weather. As the ridge builds, winds will turn more northerly and draw cold air in from Canada. We should see freezing levels at or near sea-level overnight with slight warming during the day. Most areas should see plenty of sunshine Tuesday with only a few passing clouds.
