Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Thursday

825 AM Update: Reduced cloud cover for most areas today.

An upper level trough is digging off the California coast and upper level ridging is over the inland West, allowing the weak frontal boundary over the coast to weaken substantially as it moves inland.  Cool easterly flow will allow for a mix of freezing/snow levels this morning with warmer air for the Olympics and areas along the west slopes of the Cascades away from the Passes and much cooler air at Pass level and along the east slopes of the Cascades. Spotty freezing rain in the Snoqualmie Pass area will end later this morning. There should be a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon as the front dissipates across the region.

Conditions will dry out tonight.  Weak warm frontal moisture may brush the Olympics and north Cascades on Monday, but the big pattern shift to a more active storm cycle will hold off until midweek.
