Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Wednesday

A sunny day is in store for the Pacific Northwest as an upper level ridge moves over the area. Freezing levels will rise and it will feel even warmer with winds generally on the light side. The exception will be the Mt. Hood area where a stiff easterly breeze will help replenish colder air and keep freezing levels a bit more muted. 

An approaching Pacific frontal system will begin to spread some high clouds into the northern half of the Washington later tonight. High overcast will be slow to fill in completely for the south Washington Cascades and Mt. Hood on Monday as the trough digs offshore, slowing the front's eastern progress. Filtered sunshine is likely for areas further south versus a more solid high overcast for areas north of Snoqualmie Pass. Ahead of this frontal system, there should be a brief but noticeable warming trend as warmer air is advected into the region. Snow levels should drop quickly with the onset of precipitation Monday afternoon for the Olympics and north Cascades and Monday evening for areas further south.
