Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Sunday
835 AM: Updated cloud cover in several zones for today.
An upper low will meander from the Washington State/B.C. offshore waters inland and over to SW B.C. today. As the low approaches and conditions becoming slightly unstable, afternoon cumulus will likely build for the Cascade Mountains. Combined with light upslope easterly flow along the east slopes of the Cascades, additional cloud cover and some light snow showers are possible. Light to moderate easterly winds from Stevens Pass down to White Pass should ease in the afternoon.
As one upper low weakens Tuesday night, a secondary low offshore and rotating south will begin to amplify the flow such that the flow aloft turns more southwesterly. A low pressure system currently aimed into California will begin to push northeast along the east slopes of the Cascades and Mt. Hood Tuesday night with increasing light snowfall. As the low digs offshore and flow aloft becomes even more southerly, clouds and snow showers will fill in for the Cascades Wednesday afternoon.
