Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Tuesday
On Tuesday, a departing low pressure and associated trough will bring some very light snow and decreasing clouds to Mt. Hood and areas east of the Cascade Crest south of I-90 before 10 AM. The day will become mostly sunny throughout the Pacific Northwest with calm to light winds for most mountain locations in the dry and light northerly flow aloft behind the trough. With little mixing of the atmosphere, some patchy low-level fog will linger through the morning hours. Temperatures will be cooler than seasonal norms due to a modified arctic air mass in place with decreasing strong Frasier River outflow continuing to spill cold air into the Puget Sound lowlands.
Tuesday night will be clear and cold with another sunny, cool, and quiescent day on Wednesday. Decreasing Frasier River outflow and temperatures moderating slightly. A system dropping southward over the eastern Pacific will track well west of our region.
