Weather Synopsis for Sunday & Thursday

Strong high pressure will remain anchored over the Inland NW, blocking weather systems from reaching the area through at least Tuesday.

Light to moderate easterly offshore flow will continue in the Cascade Passes and at ridge-crest for the central and south Washington Cascades and the Mt. Hood area through Monday. Low level clouds and fog at the Passes should break up sooner and more thoroughly today.  High elevation sites that stayed cool yesterday along the east slopes of the Cascades and at the Passes are already showing signs of the warmer air eroding the cold air from top down this morning; Washington Pass was above freezing at 6700 feet as well as the top of  Skyline (Stevens Pass), Alpental (Snoqualmie), Crystal Summit and the Mt. Hood upper mountain sites. This warming trend will continue this afternoon and freezing levels will stay elevated through Monday.
