Weather Synopsis for Friday & Friday
The weather will be much quieter today. A weak disturbance offshore this morning will undercut weak upper level ridging, amounting to little more than a mix of low and high clouds for all areas along with isolated showers for the west slopes of the Cascades and Olympics. Snow levels have dropped to 1000-2000 ft across the region behind yesterday's front. Blustery west winds seen overnight and early this morning at many locations will ramp down by mid-day.
A weak frontal boundary will weaken and stall over the Olympics and the far northwest Cascades Friday night and Saturday morning. A somewhat stronger N-S oriented frontal boundary will approach Saturday afternoon, spreading light rain and snow inland late in the day. Expect cloud ceilings to lower for the Cascades in the afternoon with an uptick in winds as the front approaches.
