Weather Synopsis for Tuesday & Tuesday

.A major winter storm impacts continues to impact the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday with strong winds, heavy rain/snow, 4000-5000 ft snow levels gradually lowering as the slow-moving frontal system moves eastward. Snow levels are lower than originally forecast with most pass locations experiencing snow although Snoqualmie may mix with rain during the morning hours as winds switch from easterly to a subtle westerly direction.

The post-frontal flow will be moist and showers will be continuous and heavy at times Tuesday afternoon, gradually decreasing Tuesday night and Wednesday. The strong jet will keep moderate to strong winds in the forecast Tuesday afternoon before they begin to gradually decrease Tuesday night and Wednesday

Another system approaches offshore from the SW. By Wednesday night, the associated warm front lifts northward across the region bringing wind and some precipitation; it will be followed by a sharp cold front on Thursday bring rain, snow and wind to the region.
