Weather Synopsis for Monday & Tuesday

Weather disturbances traveling along a W-SW frontal boundary will deliver several waves of moisture to the Pacific Northwest with mild snow levels over the next two days. A strong westerly jet will be aimed into southern British Columbia over this time period as well.

Precipitation associated with a not-so-cold cold front currently focused on the Olympics and northwest Cascades this morning should sink south into the southern Washington Cascades and Oregon later today. Warm frontal moisture will lift back north tonight through Tuesday morning.

A relative lull in precipitation may be seen Tuesday afternoon before steadier rain and snow fills back in again Tuesday night. The highest precipitation totals (mostly rain) and the strongest W-SW alpine winds are expected from the central Washington Cascades and south to Mt. Hood.

Extended Weather Synopsis for Tuesday night through Tuesday

A front pushing through on Wednesday will slowly begin to kick this whole mess of never-ending moist and mild W-SW flow out of the area...but not before another wet day. Snow levels should fall ever so slightly during the day on Wednesday, but just enough for snow to accumulate in the above treeline zone. A sharper cooling trend should take place Wednesday night into Thursday morning but steady precipitation will turn to showers with only local snow accumulations along the west slopes of the Cascades.

A front will impact British Columbia on Thursday with some light rain and snow mostly for the north Cascades and Olympics and little to no precipitation for Mt. Hood.

Brace yourself, because another strong low pressure system looks to hit the Pacific Northwest Friday and Friday night.

Extended Weather

Olympics, Washington Cascades near and west of the crest including Stevens, Snoqualmie, and White Passes
